Serena, Ariel, Rain, and I stopped by Greenvale, a small little town for supplies close to Black Forest. “Ok, we got everything we need for our trip to New Zork. My estimated time says we’ll be there in 2 days time.” said Ariel. “So let’s get going already. I like to see what this New Zork is like.” I said all excited. So we begin to walk, but that’s when Rain saw something on a tree. “Hmm…this poster says something is about to go on in the town square in a few minutes. Why don’t we go check it out?” We all agree to. Minutes later we came to the square, and saw some rather large Pokemon. “I wonder what’s going on here? Maybe it’s a town meeting or something.” said Serena. “I don’t think so. But something is going down.“ said Ariel. We spotted a Loudred on a big tree stomp. “WELCOME ONE AND ALL!!!” he said loudly. “Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!” shouted the crowd. “Whoops, sorry folks. Anyway, I represent the Iron Fist League, and we’ve come to Greenvale to look for wonderful talent to try out for our new league tournament that’s coming up in New Zork City.” “The Iron Fist League? What’s that?” I asked. “I’ve heard about it. The IFL is like a mix martial arts sport. Pokemon of all types, shapes, and sizes can enter if they wish. They travel all over the world.” said Ariel. “Now that you mentioned it, my dad told me he went to one of they’re competitions.”
“If you wish to take part for our Greenvale tryouts, sign up right now.” A few decided to go ahead. I went ahead as well. “Ok folks. Tryouts will begin in an hour. So prepare yourself and do your best.” So we waited for a while. “So you want to take part in this why?” asked Ariel. “To better myself as a battler. What more could I ask?” “Hehehehe, it’ll be a shame if you fail little man.” We looked over and saw a Nidoking. “Huh? What do you mean?” “The tryouts call for using your physical strength and Physical Attacks. Attacks that are not of a physical nature like Thunderbolt or Flamethrower is prohibited.” “I’m guessing your taking part in this tryout too?” I asked. “You could say that.” “Hold on a second. That won’t be fair if a Nidoking takes part. You have an ability call Poison Point. If someone comes into physical contact with you, you can poison them. How’s that fair?” asked Serena. “Well little missy, your half right. I can control my poison flow, plus the IFL makes sure Pokemon don’t use they’re abilities to give themselves an unfair advantage. That’s why they fit us with these special collars around our necks, waists, arms, or tails, which prevent our abilities from activating. See ya on the field little man.” He walks away. “That’s interesting. Hey wait, how does he know what the IFL does if he’s just trying out?” asked Serena. “Maybe he’s a fan.” said Rain.
The hour came and we came to the fight fields outside the town. Many Pokemon were going at it. “This feels like a tournament just to weed out the weaklings.” said Rain. “Well, might as well head to my field.” I said. I went to a judge and he pointed me to arena ring 5. I found it as well as that Nidoking. He just finish his bout. “Good luck little man.” He exits and I entered. My opponent was a Graveler. “Terrific. Pyro’s first match is against a Rock Pokemon. This is a mismatch.” said Serena. “Not necessarily little missy. Something tells me that Charmeleon will make short work of him.” said the Nidoking. So my match began. Graveler came at me but I was able to move out of the way, then struck him with a combination of Metal Claw and Iron Tail moves, taking him out in less than 30 seconds. “Whoa, no way!” said Rain, Serena, and Ariel. “He’s stronger than I anticipated. Thos of Draconia do possess tremendous power.” said the Nidoking. “Hey, how did you know he’s from Draconia Island?” asked Rain. “A fighter can sense an opponent’s strength.” “Wait a sec…aren’t you-.” “Well, I gotta prep for my next bout.” said the Nidoking and he left before Rain can finish asking. My friends looked at each other.
The bouts continue in each arena ring. Pretty soon only 32 combatants remain in each of the 16 arena rings, including me and that Nidoking. The Loudred appears again. “Okay, congratulations to our combatants. You each will take part in the IFL Grand Prix which will be held in New Zork City in 3 days. I urge you all to get there when you can.” “The IFL Grand Prix?” “It’s the Iron Fist League’s tournament to see who will have a chance to face the IFL Champion. I intend to win and get back my title.” said the Nidoking. “Huh? Get back my title? Who is this guy?” I thought. As the sun began to set my friends and I were able to find the Nidoking before he left. “Hey wait up!” “Hm? Oh, its you little man and your cohorts.” “Okay, something doesn’t add up. You seem to know a lot more about the IFL than I realize. Who are you?” “Me? I’m just a fighter looking to get his former glory back.” “I knew it! I know who he is!” “You do little penguin?” “I happen to be a fan of the IFL, and there’s no mistaken it. You’re the former champ, Basher Brian.” “Hmm…so you figured it out did ya? Hehehe, I reckon a fan would recognize me eventually, but yes. My name is Brian. Well, I’ll see you folks in New Zork City. I urge you to be careful once you get there.” He leaves. “Wow, I can’t believe we got to meet the former champ in the flesh.” said Rain. Something did bother me about why he said for us to be careful once we get to New Zork City. There’s only one way to know, and that’s to get to New Zork City. Meanwhile, a mysterious black figure was in Black Forest. “Hmm…he came here. The scent is still strong, which means he can’t be too far. I’ll find him…for Master Draco…” said the black creature.
